Really need some assiatance

I'm not a real computer guy, but here I go.
I have an HP with Windows 11. The computer opens up, and the internet works fine.
The problem is that when I click the bottom left corner, the start button, nothing happens.
The same goes for the search button next to the start button.
I can click and click with no results.
Can someone assist me with this issue?
